Weber Canyon Bridge Work

PROJECT UPDATE
Beginning Oct. 19, westbound traffic will be shifted into a single lane onto the newly constructed eastbound structure. This continuous traffic configuration will stay active in all directions through Nov. 3.
Winter Operations Pause: Construction disruptions will pause beginning Nov. 4 and are scheduled to restart in early spring 2027.
Drivers are encouraged to maintain flow by observing the designated 55 mph speed limit within the construction zone, remaining vigilant, and utilizing zipper merging as lanes taper.
Expect these lane restrictions returning next spring to complete remaining construction work.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
UDOT is reconstructing the eastbound and westbound I-84 Weber River/Union Pacific Railroad bridges two miles east from the mouth of Weber Canyon in Weber County.
This project will install two new bridges with an anticipated 75-year service life. The bridges feature updated typical sections, improved detailing, and geometry for a safer, more efficient facility.
Stay tuned for additional information as it becomes available.
walking path closed
The walking/bike trail beneath I-84 along the river is currently closed for your safety while construction is ongoing. Please stay tuned for updates on when the trail will reopen.

Ogden City Pipeline
PROJECT UPDATE
Crews are currently constructing a replacement water line to ensure long-term utility service and reliability. Traffic will be restricted to a single lane 24/7, with temporary signals and flaggers guiding alternating travel directions through April 2027.
Due to narrow canyon and minimal shoulder area, construction activities require a single-lane closure extending from The Oaks Restaurant to the Ogden Canyon Water Treatment Plant.
Work is scheduled to begin Monday, Nov. 2.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Ogden City is replacing a critical 36-inch diameter water transmission pipeline that conveys water from the City’s wellfield adjacent to Pineview Reservoir, through Ogden Canyon, and to the City’s 23rd Street reservoirs. This pipeline has served Ogden City well for nearly 100 years and needs to be replaced. The project will be completed in multiple phases between 2025 and 2029.

SR-158 Near Pineview
PROJECT UPDATE
The Port Ramp and Pineview Trail (Windsurfer Beach) are Closed. Construction has begun and will continue through 2026. No public access will be allowed at any time during construction.
- Portions of the Pineview west trail are also closed.
- Anderson Cove boat ramp is open with limited parking.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Pineview Reservoir is undergoing improvements to the visitor experience and safer access to recreation sites. Increased visitor use has required a redesign of traffic flow at the site to reduce traffic impacts on SR-158.
The project includes building a new road near Pineview Trailhead to connect with the trailhead, improving Port Boat Ramp, constructing a new day-use site (New Point). The Pineview Trailhead will also be reconstructed with new access routes to the beach, a new parking lot, restrooms, garbage services, picnic sites, and an information kiosk.
The New Point Day Use Area will include a parking area, restrooms, access routes, picnic sites, garbage services, and information kiosks. The Port Boat Ramp reconstruction will include a new road, fee stations, and an aquatic species inspection area.
The U.S. Forest Service is implementing the project in cooperation with Weber County, Utah Division of Wildlife Resources, and Utah Division of Outdoor Recreation.
